"Use Option as Meta key" for iOS Drafts with bluetooth keyboard

(this seems like a common ask, I hope it hasn’t been posted before, I didn’t see anything similar after searching?)

Is there a trivial means in Drafts of mapping the Option key to Meta key for an external bluetooth keyboard in iOS? For the macos terminal app, for example, this is an option in the Edit menu. I am addicted to emacs keystrokes for moving around text, and this is stymied without a Meta key.

iOS does not have facilities for mapping hardware keys in specific applications, only the global options available in iOS Settings > General > Keyboards > Hardware Keyboard.
