TIP: Using Drafts to help me write my novel (write scenes, then send to Obsidian)

I am finding Drafts SUPER helpful in helping me get more writing done, especially on my novel-in-progress.

I currently use Obsidian to keep track of my notes re: world-building, plot, characters, admin, scenes and outlining. Some days, however, I get more easily distracted than others.

My current process:

Start each writing session with just Drafts. Sometimes I use my Apple Vision Pro, sometimes my desktop Mac or iPad…depends on whether I’m on the road or not, what is going on in my life. I love that Drafts syncs across all my devices.

When I’m finished, I just send it to Obsidian.

And now I’m using Drafts with Alfred, and found out about Doctor Drafts.

THANK YOU, @sylumer!

Thanks for sharing your process, Debbie. It’s always interesting to see how others integrate Drafts into their workflow. I’ve been using Drafts more regularly, too, but mostly for quick notes and brainstorming. Curious: When you send your scenes to Obsidian, are you using a specific action or just copy-pasting? I’m trying to streamline that part of my setup and would appreciate any tips.

Take a look at the post again and follow the link for sending to Obsidian.

There are a few ways to do it and quite a few actions that have been posted about.

If you want to dice deeper, maybe take a look at these.

Hope that helps.
