Closing parens in links not caught in link-mode (so this link actually doesn’t work)
That’s not going to change. I realize Wikipedia allows parentheses in URL, it’s frowned on for exactly this reason. A good summary of the RFC and side effects.
If a parenthesis can end a URL, then link mode would always have to consider it part of the URL - e.g. messing up detection of [markdown](link) formatted links, which are far more common.
You can workaround by encoding the parentheses. That will still be a valid URL that works.
