Navigate to previous/next heading

I’d like to navigate with the keyboard to the previous or next heading (based on cursor position) in a draft. I don’t see anything that could be automated out of the box. I don’t like having to use the mouse to open the ‘navigate’ drop down - and the drop down it’s not context aware, doesn’t know on what heading I am on when I open it, so it is not very useful for this specific way of navigating.

Before I try I want to make sure no-one has already built it, but also would appreciate being pointed in the right direction should I decide to build something.

The default “Editing” action group has example action for this…but if you don’t have them, you can install them from the directory:

They do not have keyboard shortcuts assigned by default, but after installation, you can edit them and assign ones of your liking.

ah marker, that’s one tricky name to go by. Great thank you!

These actions are generic to different syntax highlighting definitions. In Markdown, “markers” are Headings, but in other syntaxes they might not be – for example, in Taskpaper they are Project: style project lines.

How markers work are defined in the syntax definitions.
