This is a bug the initial implementation of support for external assets. See below for workaround. Will be fixed in next update.

After updating to 24.0.8, the preview of the symbols of the Russian language is not displayed correctly

Appears to be some disagreement on encoding, fixing. If you delete the iCloud Drive/Drafts/Library/Previews folder it will revert to the old behavior to workaround for now.
