Do you have example macros you could share that demonstrate? And/or screen capture showing behaviors?
Drafts windows are standard Mac windows, so I donāt know why they would behave differently, but happy to take a look more more information.
Even though I am not the OP, but I notice that the Quick Capture window cannot be moved by Keyboard Maestro. The main Drafts windows work fine. I think the OP might be referring to the Quick Capture.
Hereās the macro I used:
I could see thatā¦or at least it needing some additional steps to identify the window.
The capture window is a āfloatingā window, meaning it is configured to float above all applications. It would not necessarily be identified by the system as the frontmost window even when it visually appears to be, because that would belong to the active application.
Iām not that familiar with Keyboard Maestro. Their forum might be the better place to get an answer on thisā¦I see there has been a number of discussions there on the special treatment floating windows require to be addressed.
I do see that you can reliably address the Draftsā capture window if you first bring Drafts to the front, then make sure the capture window is frontmost (itās title is āCaptureā, even though itās a hidden title), like:
Sorry, not the Quick Capture window, the main one/s. Canāt move that one either.
Thanks.
You will need to share some example macros. Iām not seeing any issues with basic actions in KM and Draftsā main window. I can move, resize, etc. without any issue.
Sorry, busy with work stuff. Thanks for the reponse.
See pic. Bringing Drafts to the front might be problematic as Iām using the same shortcuts to move multiple apps to set locations. However, this is whatās working for almost (possibly) all other apps.
Quick update, if I add āactivateā I can move the window, so Iām guessing itās a shortcut conflict, thanks.
Whatās odd is if I add an Activate Drafts step, the shortcut doesnāt work, but if I add an activate using the Status Menu when Drafts isnāt foremost it will move as intended?
Figured it out. Rookie error, the move windows macros were in a Group with Drafts excepted. Apologies all and thanks for your help.
