I own the new pro version but on a second old computer of course doesn’t work

No, older versions are not compatible with sync with newer versions.
Just jumping in here, I’ve run into the same situation with an older Mac still on Catalina. Understand why syncing wouldn’t work across versions, but it’d be helpful if there were at least a read-only option or a way to view older content without full sync functionality. Not expecting feature parity, just basic access would go a long way. Has anyone found any workarounds for this?
