How to hide bottom bar & always keep "float on top" enabled?

Hey everyone, I’m a new drafts user. I have two questions:

  1. How do I enable this bottom bar in drafts? I couldn’t find anything in the hide in the view menu.
  2. How do I always have float on top enabled? Right now I can go to “window” and enable it, but when I quit the app that setting is cleared and I have to do it again..

This is the float-on-top feature I’m asking about.

There is not an option to hide the status bar below the editor.

“Float on Top” will remain selected if you enable it. Do you mean across a restart of the app? If you quit it will revert to off.

Float on Top

No way to keep it persisted across app restarts?

No, there is not. I tend to think that would cause a lot of problems.

Have you considered using the Capture window? It always floats and was designed for just that sort of capture over other apps.

Thanks. I think the capture window is meant to be a way to quickly capture drafts, but my objective is to have my Drafts floating over my other windows so I can quickly look at the content of the draft and sometimes even switch to a different draft. I’m basically trying to replace Tot. let me know if there’s a way to do that? Other than that, if there is an automation or something (AppleScript) I can add, where whenever Drafts launches, it auto clicks the float on top in window menu

That property is not currently visible to scripts, but I’ll add a property to allow you to set it in an action in the next update.

FYI, hide the status bar was added in v48.2. See View > Hide Status Bar

A scriptable flag for toggling Float on Top was also added. See example action.
