How to create "Send to Mimestream"

How to “Send to Mimestream”? I don’t use Apple Mail or Gmail as my default mail app, I use Mimestream. Is there any posted guidance on how to create an action for this. Thanks!

The “mailto” action is intended to work with your default mail client.

Thanks, but I should have been more specific…sorry. In the list of actions on the right, I currently have “Send to Gmail” and “Send to Mail” (which goes to Apple Mail). I have both installed, but my “Default” mail app is Mimestream. I’m trying to figure out how to add a third action of “Send to Mimestream” (which is my macOS default email app). Thanks for any further clarification on where to find guidance in adding this.

I do not believe Mimestream has support for direct integration like some other mail apps. Therefore, the mailto action linked above that works with any mail client app as long as it is setup as your default mail app is your best options. After you install it, you can rename it “Send to Mimestream” if that is easier for you to remember what it’s doing.

You might get some value from looking over the Mail integration guide as well to understand some of the sending options - like you might find it better to send using Apple Mail or Markdown mail options even if you are not using Apple Mail as your mail client, but want to be able to use Markdown to compose rich text.

Thanks, Greg & Ian! I’ll probably just let Apple Mail do the sending for now, which is probably good for a forever fix. But I know the Mimestream developer and will send him a note. Mimestream is Gmail-only and uses all the Gmail APIs, so if Drafts can send to Gmail, there is probably a way to integrate Mimestream. He’s currently swamped trying to get the iOS version finished, so he probably won’t have any bandwidth right now. Thanks, again!

Just a final word of THANKS to both of you! The Mailto: action worked flawlessly, and there is no need to do anything else. Literally, every time I touch the Drafts app I learn something new, and I’ve been using it for years.
