Flick-to-Jira: The Fastest Way to Create Jira Issues–even faster than Jira
There are a few Actions in the Directory already that send information to Jira (and huge thanks to those developers for getting me started! ).
But I wanted something even more frictionless — a “get the words into Jira before I lose them” sort of Action.
Drafts is the perfect platform for this.
Adding a keyboard shortcut and enabling post-success archiving creates a truly seamless experience.
How It Works
- Captures the first line of the Draft as the Jira Summary (title).
- Captures all content into an unformatted Description (plain text in ADF format).
- Adds optional labels to the Jira issue:
- Draft tags (converted into Jira-safe labels)
- Customizable Jira labels (configured by you)
- Adds a link to the new Jira issue at the top of the Draft.
Built with Configured Values
I used Drafts’ new Configured Values feature to manage user settings (like project key, issue type, labelling options)–much better than confusing extra credential entries!
Only your Jira username and API token are stored securely using Drafts’ Credential system.
