Thought others might like this simple daily note shortcut I keep on my home page. It searches for a note titled with today’s date and creates it if it doesn’t exist

You can reduce that shortcut to a single action and simplify the URL to remove the callback that does not get used.
However, when it runs the first time it prompts for creation.
To avoid that you could schedule an automation every day to create a draft - but you may end up with a redundant draft if you don’t add anything that day.
You could also then have something scheduled to tidy up such drafts, but overall you can have a shortcut with just a few steps that does the checking, creation, and openjng, without the extra prompt.
Note that you may want to tweak to include octothorpes for headings if you are using Markdown and want to set your title as say a level 1 heading.
Thanks for the clarification and the Shortcuts. It’s handy for quick access to today’s plan or journaling through the day
