Drafts window floating on top of everything

maybe this is a dumb question, but I rarely use Drafts on my MacBook.

The Drafts window floats on all other applications. I am not able to click in the window of a partially concealed app to make that app active. I cannot find a setting to control this. What am I missing?

Window > Float on Top in the main menu, or the icon in the top right of the window toggles floating status.

Is there a reason to want to have the window float on top? I am asking because I found it annoying and wonder what it is that I am not getting.

You may not want it…it’s off by default. It can be a useful feature if you are working on research and dumping a lot of things into a note, and/or referring back to a list or reference materials in a note while you work in other apps.
