Anyone using a Drafts to Hey mail action? I got Drafts to Apple Mail to work but not Hey mail. I get directions to find Hey’s secret email address or Set up using SMTP, but I can’t figure how to do that. (I’ve tried directions on Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT.)
I don’t believe Hey supports direct integration that targets Hey, like a custom URL scheme…so it’s not possible to setup a custom action from Drafts solely.
If you have Hey set as your default mail app, then a mailto: action will work with it just fine.
They also have a Share Sheet, so can be selected using a “Share” action in Drafts, then selecting Hey in the share sheet.
I believe they also have a Shortcut action to open a new message, so you could setup a shortcut that you call from drafts and pass in the text.
Also note, that you can also just have your email account configured in Apple Mail, even if you never use it to read/reply to mail, you can use it to send mail with Drafts’ default mail actions on iOS.
