Drafts listing page CONFUSING

I’m new to Drafts. I mainly use it as a voice entry tool: “Siri start a note in Drafts”
So far, so good. It opens, I talk, I wait the 10 seconds I set, and it ends. I go on with my day.
But what the heck is that “title” at the top supposed to mean?
I have things like “547c 106w”… I’m guessing that’s the time in seconds (547!!) and number of words (106). But what I’d PREFER is something useful, like the date/time stamp of when I recorded/created it, something like “2025-06-12 11:13:05”. When I’m reviewing a list of notes, the creation time would be much more useful than the duration or word count. Especially since the text samples at the top can be similar, when working on the same subject over and over.
ANYWAY, questions:

  1. What DOES the “title” mean? (Are my guesses right?)
  2. CAN those titles be changed at all?
  3. If they can be, can they be changed to a new format for all future drafts?
    Thanks!
    (EDIT: More questions)
BTW, ALL of my use is on an iPhone, if that helps any diagnoses.
  4. How are the drafts ordered? All I see is “Recent Drafts” and then 5 drafts listed by the first lines (treated as titles). These seem to be the most recently VIEWED, so now that I reviewed old drafts some really old ones are listed.
What I want is the most recent ones BY CREATED DATE.
  5. I also see “Top” and “Bottom”, but since the ordering used doesn’t seem helpful, TOP and BOTTOM don’t help. Suggestions?

Right now, it seems the only way to use it is to process the notes as quickly as possible after creating them (Mail them, copy-and-paste them, whatever), and then give up on figuring out what was created when.

I’m hoping I’m just be ridiculously stupid, and someone can point out how I can make Drafts do what I want. It’s a terrific app for voice notes, but clearly I’m confused on its operation.

A lot there…I would suggest starting with the Getting Started docs to get generally oriented.

Drafts do not have a “title” - the numeric meta data you are referring to is the character and word count displayed in the editor. And it sounds like you are using the Navigation menu to look, which is more a tool for the editor and navigation within a draft – which also displays recent drafts for quick access.

You want the Draft List, which is a panel that slides out from the side, to display and access your document history – which is very customizable and can be sorted in many ways.

“Draft List” - that was PRECISELY the kind of useful-but-it-should-have-been-obvious thing I was sure was there, but couldn’t find. Whew! THANK YOU!
I tried looking at the docs, but found them confusing. The sort of intro I find most useful is a VIDEO: just show someone using the tool as if for the first time. That could show the best navigation tool (Draft List), and how to send the data (Mail/Copy/Message…), things like that, in a few seconds. They say, “seeing is believing”, but more importantly, “seeing is understanding”!!!
I feel properly stupid, but THANK YOU for pointing out the proper method.

No worries. There are links to many screencasts there, too:
