Drafts 54 Modern Editor - "Jumping Screen"

On macOS (Tahoe 26.6.2), after upgrading Drafts 54 and the Modern Editor switched on I have a problem with the screen jumping.

When I type on a line in the middle of a text block, the screen jumps and then returns to the cursor every time I press the space bar. This behaviour existed before Drafts 54 and doesn’t occur when the Modern Editor is off.

I am happy to try anything to identify the cause or try anything under specific conditions.

If you work with longer drafts, you should probably disable the Modern editor. It really does not give you any benefits and is plagued by a variety of issues, including miscalculation of text position and size in Apple’s underlying TextKit 2 framework. I’ve explored in depth and they really can’t be worked around.
