Hello,
I’m writing in markdown.
When using the original “Copy as rich text” function all works great – except h1,h2,h3.
It simply gets copied as bold text.
Is there a way to maintain the proper heading formatting?
Thank you!

What are you pasting into and have you tried pasting into other apps to confirm it is not a limitation in the receiving app?
What is your expectation? Rich text does not have “headings”, per se. This operation uses functions built-in to iOS and macOS for conversion of HTML to Rich Text, and heading come out as different sized bold text in the rich text, as when pasted into TextEdit or similar.
You’re probably right… it might be a limitation in the receiving app.
I just tested it again:
On Google Docs, it works. The headings show up properly.
But not on Medium (that’s the editor I originally want to paste it in.)
So I guess I just have to live with it…
Thanks for your help, as always!
Thanks for your reply.
My bad. That makes sense.
Is there a workaround to keep the headline formatting?
My workflow goes like this:
Writing in drafts, then pasting the content into Medium.
(Medium doesn’t have public access to their API anymore – I used to automate that with Zapier)
Any thoughts?
Drafts has direct integration with the Medium API to create posts and it takes care of converting the Markdown. See the Post to Medium…it should be easier and can save you the copy-paste dance.
