Advanced Phishing or Payment problem?

Hi! I just received an email, apparently from Apple, stating there was a problem with my upcoming payment for the renewal of my Drafts subscription. Which is truly due soon. But I see no problems with my payment method in the App Store, even made a probationary little purchase to check. So I am afraid of phishing, which would be extremely advanced, as it knows about my upcoming payment. Did anybody experience this before? My credit card actually expired two months ago, but the new one is in effect and, like I checked, working with the App Store.

I haven’t gotten one of these, but I’d just ignore it. Even if it’s legit, and your payment were to fail, you’d get notified of that and be able to fix it then.

As usual, I’d avoid following any links in that email and just go to the App Store directly to check on things - which is sounds like is what you did.

Thanks for your advice!

I see this occasionally in other contexts. It appears Apple has stored a hash with an older version of the credit card. As @agiletortoise suggests, just wait. It will either magically suceed or fail when the transaction is attempted.

Thanks, that’s reassuring.
