Using Reminders with Drafts

Reminders with options could use the ability to apply a tag (one recognised by reminders app). So far no matter what I try, it parses just text with a # in front that doesn’t behave as a tag. For context I have smart lists with workflows and automatic assignees and would like to be able to add reminders in bulk with due dates and tags Suggestions?
