I’m attempting to share a recorded voice memo (via the Share Sheet) to Drafts and am getting this as the body of the draft:
[Unsupported file URL received, unable to load content]
This workflow previously launched Drafts transcription capabilities. Is this a known issue?
Apple changed what it sends to the share sheet from Voice Memos a while back (maybe in 18.0, not sure exactly). You can no longer go directly from the share sheet to transcription, you have to save to Files and then open that file in Drafts (long press “+” > “Transcribe…”)
I have experienced the same ‘non-read’ when pushing an audio file for transcription in Drafts via the Voice Memos share extension in iOS 18.5.
It does work if you save the audio fike first and upload the saved file. It’s 2 or 3 more steps.
i’m hoping that this non-read will be corrected in a future iOS update as the share menu method is much better — when it works.
