Display instances of selected text

Users should be able to see other instances of the selected text in a document. The other instances should be either highlighted or underlined.

This Feature Request is taken as it is from BBEdit. Please check the section called “Display instances of selected text” in the BBEdit User Manual:

When this option is on and you make a selection (that doesn’t consist entirely of whitespace or punctuation), BBEdit will display all occurrences of the selection within the current document via either underlining or highlighting, and you can use the Search menu commands Next Occurrence of and Previous Occurrence of to navigate the occurrences. This option is on by default.

You can control whether BBEdit underlines or highlights occurrences via the corresponding radio buttons, or adjust the duration of the delay before BBEdit applies highlighting via the “Delay” control.
