Action bar hides behind keyboard on iPad

This photo shows a regularly occurring bug where the action bar is hidden and unusable behind the top of the keyboard. (It is not a screenshot, but a photo of my iPad taken with my iPhone, because taking a screenshot on the iPad lowers the keyboard so the effect is not visible in the shot. I have cropped the top half of the screen for privacy.)

This happens several times a day, with no obvious pattern or cause. It can be fixed by lowering the keyboard and raising it again, but it is annoying to have to do that.

I am running Drafts 53.0 (820) on iPadOS 26.5 on a 2026 iPad Air 11-inch (M4) in landscape orientation and multitasking windows app mode, with Modern Editor disabled. The Drafts window is in the left half of the screen, full height, but slightly less than half width.

Unfortunately, this is a long standing Apple bug not updating the layout for the keyboard properly. Not much I can do about it. Hopefully it’s something they address in this year of quality improvements in the OSes.

OK, thanks for the reply. At least dropping the keyboard down then back does give a workaround.
